Mita PMD Series

The towers of the PMD series are entirely constructed in fiberglass to avoid problems resulting from corrosion. They are equipped with axial fans that permit high performance with a low used electrical power.

Double cell unit with axial fans, appropriate for medium-sized systems.


The body and the water collection basin (optional) are in fiberglass reinforced polyester resin.  The filling material for the heat exchanger and the condensate separator is PVC, as for the water distributor and the drain and overflow connections.  The full cone nozzles are made of polypropylene, and are inoccludible.  The splash guards are made of fiberglass.


There are 4 models available for a potential from about 480 to 860 kW (indicative potential reported for a thermal gradient of 5 °C).


The use of plastic materials makes the product light, incorrodible, and permits installation anywhere.

Mita PMD Series Specifications

CASING (body, lid, and optional basin) made entirely of fiberglass reinforced polyester resin, structurally self-supporting and of an exclusive design, with an anti-UV ray protective gel coat external finish.

SPLASH GUARDS that are pultruded, in fiberglass reinforced polyester resin (only in the version with a basin).

INSPECTION PORTALS that are circular with a polyamide body and a polycarbonate window, easily opened for convenient inspection within the tower.

FILLING MATERIAL (also for heat exchange) composed of panels consisting of auto-extinguishing and inputrescible PVC sheets, thermoformed under vacuum and then attached together.
The filling material thus realized gives the shape, composition and dimensions both to optimize the air/water contact within the tower and the resulting heat exchange process.

CONDENSATE SEPARATOR composed of panels of auto-extinguishing and inputrescible PVC sheets, thermoformed under vacuum and then attached together.
The shape and the dimensions of the panels are designed to minimize the dragging of the water droplets by the air current aspirated by the fan.

SUPPORTS for the filling materials and the condensate separator (if provided) in hot-dip galvanized steel.

WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM made with unified PN 10 pipes and fittings in PVC, consisting of a main collector and one or more threaded fittings to which the spray nozzles are attached.
The system is designed in such a way as to guarantee the uniform and homogeneous distribution of water to cool the filling material.

SPRAY NOZZLES in isotactic polypropylene, of a static type, self-cleaning and with wide passages. Of an exclusive MITA design, the 120° spray angle and the full cone guarantee the perfect perfusion of the filling material. 

MANOMETER GROUP composed of a three-way junction, a hydrometer in glycerine with an AISI 304 body for water pressure measurement at its entrance to the tower, and a purge valve to check water hardness.

HYDRAULIC CONNECTIONS threaded to take cooled water, overflow, and floating and bottom unloading reintegration; posted on the water collection basin (if provided).

AXIAL VENTILATION SYSTEM that is directly coupled and consists of:
  • support ring in after-fabrication hot-dip galvanized steel
  • waterproof electric motor (IP 55 protection), V5 design, F class insulation, tropicalized wrapping, multi-tension (V 220/240 – 380/415, Hz 50/60), without maintenance
  • axial fan directly coupled to the driveshaft of the electric motor
  • steel protective grill compliant with the existing safety standards

NUTS AND BOLTS in AISI 304 stainless steel.
